Description
Loctite 262 is a one-component, red anaerobic threadlocker for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. It cures when confined between close-fitting metal threads with no air present, which helps hold bolts and studs against loosening from shock and vibration. Henkel lists it for larger fasteners up to M25, and its thixotropic consistency limits migration after application. Maintenance crews, machine builders and fleet shops use it on equipment bolts that must stay put.
The Canadian Safety Data Sheet classifies it as a skin irritant (Category 2), an eye irritant (Category 2B) and a specific target organ toxicant after repeated exposure (Category 2). Wear protective gloves and read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Disassembly normally calls for localized heat on the nut or bolt. Not for use in pure oxygen or with strong oxidizers. Sold per 10 mL bottle.
