Description
Loctite 565 PST is a one-component, white to off-white anaerobic paste made for sealing and locking threaded metal pipes and fittings. It cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal threads, and it is a low-strength product. Plumbers, millwrights and hydraulic and pneumatic technicians use it as a paste alternative to tape on tapered pipe threads. Henkel reports pressure testing to 207 bar (3000 psi) on 3/8 NPT steel tees and plugs, and lists NSF/ANSI Standard 61 certification for potable water systems up to 82 °C, as stated in that data sheet.
The Safety Data Sheet classifies the product as a skin irritant (Category 2), a serious eye irritant (Category 2A) and a specific target organ toxicant after repeated exposure (Category 2). Wear gloves, eye protection and face protection, and read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Not for pure oxygen or chlorine service, and not normally recommended on plastics. Sold per 50 mL tube.
