Description
LPS ChainMate is a molybdenum disulfide lubricant in a 312 g (11 wt oz) aerosol, formulated to work its way between chain links and into the strands of wire rope. It carries a solvent that pushes water out, and the moly content is there to handle heavy loads. Riggers and maintenance crews use it on chains, cables, sprockets, pulleys, pins, bushings, rollers and drives on cranes, forklifts and saws.
The Canadian Safety Data Sheet classifies the aerosol as Flammable aerosol Category 1 and Gas under pressure (liquefied gas), signal word Danger: extremely flammable, may explode if heated. Do not spray on a flame or ignition source, do not pierce or burn the can, and keep it below 50 °C (122 °F). Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Sold per can.
