Description
The MSA ALTAIR 2X is a compact, single-gas portable detector with an electrochemical sensor for nitrogen dioxide (NO2). It shows the reading on a large display and warns the wearer with bright LEDs, a loud audible alarm (95 dB typical at 30 cm) and a vibrating alarm. This version is factory set with a low alarm at 2.5 ppm and a high alarm at 5 ppm, and it reads 0–50.0 ppm.
Nitrogen dioxide comes from combustion, diesel exhaust, welding and cutting, and some chemical processes. The detector only detects the gas for which its sensor is installed. Check it with a bump test or calibrate it as the manual describes before use, and follow your site procedure for gas testing.
