Description
Permatex Ultra Copper is a single-component RTV silicone that forms a flexible, formed-in-place gasket by curing with moisture from the air. It is a copper-coloured, non-sag oxime silicone rated by Permatex for continuous service from -54 to 316 °C (-65 to 600 °F) and up to 371 °C (700 °F) intermittently, which suits exhaust manifolds and headers, pumps, compressors, valve covers, oil pans, thermostat housings and gearboxes. Engine shops and industrial maintenance teams also use it as a gasket dressing on pre-cut gaskets.
The Safety Data Sheet (Danger) classifies it as a skin sensitizer (Category 1) and as may cause cancer (Category 1B), and it contains 2-butanone oxime. Obtain special instructions, wear protective equipment and read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Permatex does not recommend it as a cylinder head gasket sealant. Sold per 80 mL tube.
