Description
The 3M 5P71 is a bayonet particulate prefilter listed by 3M as filter class P95 and NIOSH approved. 3M states that the filter material is polyester. Sold by the box of 10 filters: the price is for the whole box, not per filter.
Per the manufacturer, 5P71 filters are used on 3M 5000 Series respirators and 6000 Series cartridges with the 501 filter retainer; 3M also lists use with the 603 filter adapter and the 501 retainer, in which case it describes the filter as reducing particulate exposure only. 3M names the following compatible facepieces for this bayonet prefilter family: half facepieces 6000, 6500/6500QL and 7500 Series, and full facepieces 6000, FF-400 and 7800S Series. The 501 retainer, the 603 adapter, cartridges and respirators are sold separately.
Respirators and filters must be selected, fitted and used according to the 3M user instructions and the advice of a safety professional.
