Description
Scotch 700 is a general-purpose black vinyl electrical tape supplied as a single roll, 3/4 in wide and 66 ft long (about 19 mm x 20 m). It is a stretchable, conformable PVC tape with a pressure-sensitive adhesive, used to insulate wire and cable splices, to bundle and harness wires, and to repair cable jackets.
Per the manufacturer data sheet, the tape is intended for primary insulation of splices rated up to 600 V and 80 C, for indoor and outdoor use, above or below ground, and carries UL 510 and CSA C22.2 No. 197 listings. Apply it in half-lapped layers with even tension, and always check suitability for your own application before use.
