Description
Loctite 248 is a blue, medium-strength anaerobic threadlocker supplied as a wax-like semi-solid in a twist-up stick, so it can be rubbed straight onto bolt threads without dripping. Once the fastener is tightened and air is excluded, it cures between close-fitting metal surfaces, and the joint can still be released later with standard hand tools. Mechanics and maintenance crews use it on valve cover bolts, brackets, covers and other vibration-prone fasteners.
The Safety Data Sheet (Henkel Canada) classifies the product as a skin irritant (Category 2), serious eye irritant (Category 2A), skin sensitizer (Category 1) and suspected carcinogen (Category 2), signal word Warning. Wear protective gloves and eye and face protection, avoid breathing dust or fumes and read the SDS before use. Not recommended for pure oxygen systems. Sold per 9 g stick.
