Description
The Bessey 4800J-20 is a heavy duty J-style all-steel bar clamp with a clamping capacity of 20 in (508 mm) and a throat depth of 7 in (178 mm). Its return rail lets the clamp step over the lip of channel iron, angle iron, an I-beam or other obstructions, up to 6 in (152 mm) according to the manufacturer, who lists a nominal clamping force of 4,880 lb and names metal construction, locksmith work and car body construction among the applications.
It has a tilting MorPad pressure pad, a forged sliding arm and a sliding-pin T-handle, with a heat-treated Acme-threaded screw described as spatter resistant. Sold as a single clamp. Wear safety goggles and gloves and tighten by hand only, as the manufacturer advises.
