Description
Loctite 518 is a red, gel-like, one-part anaerobic sealant used as a form-in-place gasket between rigid, close-fitting metal flanges, for example on gearbox and engine casings. It cures when confined away from air, works on active metals and on aluminum with low copper content, and tolerates light oil contamination on the faces. Henkel rates it for flange gaps up to 0.25 mm (0.01 in). This is the 50 mL tube.
The Canadian Safety Data Sheet classifies the product as a skin irritant (Category 2), serious eye irritant (Category 2A), skin sensitizer (Category 1) and suspected carcinogen (Category 2), signal word Warning. Wear protective gloves, clothing and eye protection and read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Not recommended in pure oxygen systems or with strong oxidizers. Sold per tube.
