Description
Electro 140 is a non-conductive contact cleaner packaged in a 312 g aerosol. It is a petroleum-distillate solvent with a flash point above 60 °C (140 °F) that evaporates in a controlled way, giving it extra dwell time to loosen light oils, greases and dirt. Electrical and electronics technicians use it on printed circuit boards, relays and controls, circuit breakers, connectors, contacts, switches, coin counters and telecom equipment. The can has an inverted-spray valve, so it can be used at any angle.
The Canadian Safety Data Sheet (WHMIS 2023) classifies the aerosol as Aerosol Category 1, signal word Danger: extremely flammable aerosol, pressurized container that may burst if heated. Despite the 60 °C flash point of the liquid, keep the spray away from flames, sparks and hot surfaces, never pierce or burn the can, and do not store it above 50 °C (122 °F). Test on a small hidden area first, as the manufacturer notes it is safe on most surfaces, not all. Read the SDS before use. Sold per can.
