Description
The Stanley 16-974 is a 3/8 in thru-tang wood chisel. Per the manufacturer, the blade is hardened, tempered high-chrome carbon alloy steel for edge retention, precision ground, accurately sized and etched with the blade size, with a lacquered finish for corrosion protection and a cutting edge honed and ready for use.
The manufacturer describes an ergonomic bi-material handle that is break resistant, a thru-tang steel core that transfers strike force from the steel strike cap to the tip, and states that the steel strike cap is for use with a steel-headed hammer. A blade guard is included. Sold as a single tool.
