Description
Loctite 564 is a one-component, white to off-white anaerobic paste used to seal and lock threaded metal pipes and fittings. The paste has a lubricating effect that makes it easier to start and torque a fitting, and it hardens only where air is excluded between close-fitting metal threads. Plumbers, millwrights and maintenance crews apply it to threaded pipe joints, plugs and tees, and the joint can later be undone with ordinary hand tools.
The Safety Data Sheet (Henkel Canada, WHMIS 2015) classifies the product as a skin irritant (Category 2), serious eye irritant (Category 2A) and specific target organ toxicant after repeated exposure (Category 2), signal word Warning. Wear protective gloves and eye and face protection, avoid breathing vapours or mist and read the SDS before use. Not for pure oxygen systems or as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizers. Sold per 50 mL tube.
