Description
Loctite SI 5699 is a grey, one-part oxime silicone that cures at room temperature with moisture from the air. Henkel intends it mainly for sealing rigid flanges, with good oil resistance on transmissions and cast metal housings. The paste is thixotropic, so the bead resists running after application, and the cured seal is non-corrosive. Garages, shops and plant maintenance teams use it as a form-in-place gasket where a rigid metal joint has to hold in oil. Supplied in a 300 mL cartridge.
The Canadian Safety Data Sheet classifies the product as a serious eye irritant (Category 2A), skin sensitizer (Category 1), carcinogen (Category 1A) and a repeated-exposure target organ toxicant (Category 2), signal word Danger. Obtain special instructions before use, wear protective gloves, clothing, and eye and face protection, avoid breathing dust and read the SDS first. Not recommended for pure oxygen systems, for chlorine or other strong oxidizers, or for contact with gasoline. Sold per 300 mL cartridge.
