Description
The MSA ALTAIR 2X is a compact, single-gas portable detector with an electrochemical sensor for carbon monoxide (CO). It shows the reading on a large display and warns the wearer with bright LEDs, a loud audible alarm (95 dB typical at 30 cm) and a vibrating alarm. This version is factory set with a low alarm at 25 ppm and a high alarm at 100 ppm, and it reads 0–1999 ppm.
Carbon monoxide builds up around engines, generators, heaters and welding or burning work in enclosed spaces. The detector only detects the gas for which its sensor is installed. Check it with a bump test or calibrate it as the manual describes before use, and follow your site procedure for gas testing.
