Description
Permatex Bearing Mount for Close Fits (609) is a low-viscosity green anaerobic liquid for cylindrical metal joints that are press fit or have very little clearance, up to 0.005 in diametral. Applied between the parts, it fills the gap and hardens into a thermoset plastic once air is excluded, helping to secure bushings, bearings, oil seals, ring gear bolts and differential lock pins and to limit fretting and corrosion. Permatex states that it meets the requirements of MIL-R-46082B, Type I.
The Safety Data Sheet (US OSHA and Canada WHMIS, revision of December 19, 2024) lists the product as a skin irritant (Category 2), serious eye irritant (Category 2A), skin sensitizer (Category 1) and possibly carcinogenic (Category 1B); signal word Danger. Wear protective gloves and eye protection and read the SDS before use. Not for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems, or as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizers. Sold per 50 mL bottle.
