Description
Permatex Gear Oil RTV Gasket Maker is a one-component, moisture-curing oxime silicone that forms gaskets in place on mating flanges. It is formulated for differentials and transfer cases, where the friction modifiers in gear oil can attack ordinary RTV silicones. It can also seal a pre-cut gasket as a dressing, and it cures to a flexible silicone rubber. This is the 85 g (3 oz) tube.
The Safety Data Sheet classifies the product as a skin sensitizer (Category 1) and as suspected of causing cancer (Carcinogenicity Category 2), signal word Warning. Avoid skin contact, wear protective gloves and read the SDS before use. Not recommended as a cylinder head gasket sealant or on parts in contact with gasoline. Sold per tube.
